Patch to launch flagship workspace at The Forum, Gloucester’s transformative city centre development

Patch, the fast-growing company which reimagines how we work and connect, will open a 17,000 sq ft flagship space at The Forum in Gloucester this autumn.

Patch Gloucester will be the company’s sixth and largest site, and its first to be hosted in a new build commercial development.

It will be a dynamic hub for work and community, supporting businesses, creatives, and community organisations powering Gloucester’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Patch will host more than 100 businesses and 500 members and will be designed for both growing teams and independent professionals, offering private offices, coworking studios, dedicated desks, and members’ lounges to balance focus and collaboration.

Patch offers design-led workspaces where members can be part of a vibrant community. Patch Gloucester will also include publicly bookable meeting rooms, event spaces, and production studios.

As a certified B-Corp, a mark of social and environment sustainability, the company is committed to supporting the local community through hosting events, initiatives, and building strong local partnerships.

Freddie Fforde, founder of Patch, said: “Gloucester is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting places to start and grow a business. With its thriving startup ecosystem, strong university links, and a creative energy deeply rooted in the city’s character, it’s full of momentum.

“At Patch, we want to help that energy flourish. We’re creating a welcoming city-centre space where local people, ambitious founders, community projects, and bold ideas can come together, collaborate, and thrive.”

Patch is redefining the workday with beautifully designed spaces and a people-first approach that brings energy, focus, and connection to every member. With 1,000+ members nationwide, it’s the go-to home for ambitious teams and entrepreneurs who value a vibrant community over the isolation of working from home.

Paloma Strelitz, Creative Director at Patch and previously co-founder of the Turner Prize-winning architecture studio Assemble, brings a design-led, community-focused vision to every location. “We’re creating a space that feels rooted in Gloucester’s heritage while setting the stage for new creative possibilities and shared ambition,” she said.

“There are quiet studies for deep focus, lively communal lounges, and inspiring event spaces. Patch is built to bring people together and make work and collaboration more joyful.”

The heart of Gloucester’s regeneration

Patch is the second business tenant announced for The Forum, a £107m mixed-used development being brought forward by Gloucester City Council in partnership with developers Reef + Partners.

It offers 135,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, a boutique hotel, a 393-space car park with 41 electric vehicle charging points, residential apartments and retail space.

Cllr Jeremy Hilton, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Patch to Gloucester. Along with current tenants Fasthosts they share our vision for the city and see its massive potential to grow and attract talent. With the opening of the university city campus, the ongoing completion of the Forum and huge amounts of continuing regeneration of the city, this is a very exciting time for Gloucester.”

Centrally located by Kings Square and next to the new University of Gloucestershire city campus, The Forum has excellent transport links, just a short walk from Gloucester train station and bus station.

Patch’s B Corp certification makes it the perfect fit for The Forum which has a BREEAM Excellent rating, is net zero carbon in operation and hosts the South West’s largest living wall.

Peter Langly-Smith, managing director at Reef + Partners, said: “The Forum’s aim is to transform the city centre into a vibrant hub for business growth, and Patch will play a key part in this. Their inspiring workspaces will allow businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs to be part of this innovation ecosystem.”

Patch will offer a range of flexible membership options, from fully serviced offices to part-time coworking memberships, starting at £99+VAT per month.
